Dive Shop Blue Hole Eagle Ray Mayan Ruin Nurse Shark Eco Divers Dolphins Tubing

Ecologic Divers

This is our brand new dive shop rebuilt in the Fall of 2016 after Hurricane Earl destroyed our old shop.  We are still in the same place, on the north end of Barrier Reef Drive just south of the Phoenix Resort.  Yes, we are now open for business.  Please come visit us!

Great Blue Hole

The Great Blue Hole is a large submarine sinkhole off the coast of Belize.  It lies near the center of the Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll 36 miles from Ambergris Caye.  The hole is circular in shape, 984 ft across and 407 feet deep.  We dive the Blue Hole to a depth of 130 feet where we explore the stalactites.

Mayan Ruins

Mayan ruins and archaeological sites are found throughout Belize.   The Xunantunich site is located 80 miles west of Belize City near the Guatemalan border.  Pictured is the El Castillo temple at Xunantunich, the second tallest structure in Belize.  Let us book your mainland trips and tours.

Spotted Eagle Ray

Spotted eagle rays are commonly sighted in Belize waters, and you will often see them on our dive trips.  If you are snorkeling at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, be on the lookout for them swimming through the bowl.  They are amazingly beautiful and graceful critters.

Nurse Shark

Nurse sharks seem to always be around on many of our dive trips.  They are, for the most part, harmless.  Ask your Divemaster to dive Esmeralda as these sharks frequent the area.  In contrast to other local dive shops, we do not allow the touching of sharks or any other marine wildlife.

Our Dive Guests

This is a group of our dive guests chillaxing in one of the pools at the Phoenix Resort next door to our dive shop.   The Phoenix Resort was named the best hotel in the world in 2012 by Trip Advisor.  Book a condo at The Phoenix -- it is definitely a first class place to stay on your dive vacation!

Dolphins

You never know when a pod of dolphins is going to show up on one of our dive trips.  It is fun to see them play and interact within the pod, and also with the divers -- they show real personality.

Cave Tubing

Cave tubing is a fun, low stress adventure on the mainland.  The waters in the river are normally shallow, cool and refreshing, and the cave is surprisingly large and long.  Book this trip with us on a day when cruise ships are not in port in order to avoid the maddening crowds.

  • Free Pick Up and Drop Off -- We will pick you up and drop you off at most resort docks!
  • Free Hot Towel Service -- We provide hot, moist, eucalyptus scented towels to refresh you after your dives!
  • Free Refreshments -- We provide fresh fruit, fruit juice, chips and salsa, and cookies during the surface interval!
  • Integrated Weight BCDs -- Our BCDs are all integrated weight BCDs by Sherwood, Cressi and Mares!
  • Shaded Dive Boats -- Our dive boats are fitted with canvas canopies for protection from the sun!
  • Special Blue Hole Dive Boat -- Our boat has an enclosed cabin, restroom, fresh water shower and cushioned seating!
  • Six Divers Per Divemaster On All Dives -- Your safety is our primary concern!

We often have trips out to the Blue Hole, Turneffe and elsewhere with no set schedule.   We generally have a guest book a trip early on, and use that as a starting point to build a confirmed trip with a pre-established minimum number of divers.  This is common practice for most San Pedro dive shops.  As the distance to some of these sites are many miles away, and because of the expense involved, especially fuel costs, it is necessary to schedule in this manner.

Once you are booked, we begin the process of confirming the trip by informing our current divers of the trip, and contacting resorts as to its availability.  Much of the time, things work out fine, but in those instances where we cannot confirm the trip, please accept our apologies.

Turneffe Atoll Three Tank Dive Trip

Dive Scene

Due east of Belize City and minutes beyond the Barrier Reef lies the Turneffe Islands Atoll.  The largest of the three atolls located off the coast of Belize, Turneffe is made up of more than 200 islands.  It is 32 miles long and at its widest point is nearly 10 miles wide.  Due to its proximity to the mainland, one would think that the diving there would be more popular, but in fact, Turneffe is the "forgotten atoll".  For this very reason, Turneffe has some of the most pristine diving in Belize.

We start the day with a 5:30 am pick up from your dock, and return to our dock for breakfast, coffee and juice.  We then depart at 6:00 am for a two hour trip to the Turneffe Atoll.  Dive sites include Turneffe Elbow South, Black Beauty, Myrtle Turtle, Front Porch, and Calabash, the choice of sites depending on the weather conditions.  We arrive back at San Pedro around 5:30 pm.

Basil Jones - All Day Three Tank Dive Trip

Dive Scene

We start the day by picking you up at your hotel dock at 8:00 am, and cruise along the north reef of Ambergris Caye.  Your first dive of the day will be at Sandy Point, a dive site well known for its incredible tunnel formations.  This dive starts off at about 50 feet at the entrance of the tunnel and slopes down to a maximum depth of about 100 feet.  At the end of the dive, you are welcomed aboard with purified drinking water, a fresh tray of fruits and snacks.  Your surface interval will occur while cruising to your second dive of the day.

Your second dive of the day is at Basil Jones Canyons where the reef meets with the land on the north end of Ambergris Caye. The majestic canyon formation stretches out about 70 to 100 feet to the east in between finger canyons which slope down to over 100 feet.

After your second dive, we will go ashore at Basil Jones where you will have the opportunity to purchase lunch and have a short time to relax on the beach before we travel to your last dive site.

Your last dive of the day is at Mata Rocks Canyons.  It is a slightly shallower dive site popular for the abundance of queen conchs on the sandy area which attracts eagle rays and nurse sharks.

We drop you off at your hotel around 5:00 pm.

This trip includes tanks, weights, fruit, snacks, and beverages.  A $5 USD park fee is not included in the price below.
